Stantec has a long history of providing engineering services for Tampa Bay Water and Hillsborough County. 'We're excited to work with Tampa Bay Water to deliver this vital project for Hillsborough County residents.'
As part of our goals, we plan to coordinate closely with Tampa Bay Water and Hillsborough County departments, other utilities, and the community to ensure our work provides the greatest value for years to come,' said Jarah Parke, senior project manager at Stantec. 'Water pipelines like this are the arteries of our daily lives and allow water to transmitted large distances from the source benefiting a greater number of people. Subsequent phases will include completing the final designs and engineering services during construction. In the first phase of the project, Stantec will perform a route study to determine the most feasible path for the pipeline and prepare a basis of design report that will include preliminary designs. Pipeline B will span 8 miles, connecting the Lithia Water Treatment Plant to a new point of connection in South Hillsborough County, increasing the conveyance to the area. This includes crossing a river, railroad, and state and county freeways and road intersections. The completed pipeline project will run approximately 25 miles and consist of at least 60-inch diameter pipes, which will pass through urban and rural corridors. The Southern Hillsborough County Supply Expansion Pipeline will help meet the potable water needs that coincide with this growth. The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council estimates the county will grow by an additional 8.7 percent by 2024. Since 2010, Hillsborough County has experienced a population growth of more than 22 percent, according to the U.S. Stantec will provide design and permitting services for Pipeline B, as well as engineering services during construction. The project will meet the growing demand for potable water in the county's South-Central service area. Tampa Bay Water has selected leading global design firm Stantec to design Pipeline B for the Southern Hillsborough County Supply Expansion Pipeline.
